This is the Bardi's third concert at Leicester Grammar School as part of the Orchestra's unique association with the school. Head of Music David Whittle will be Guest Conductor in a performance of the Symphony in D minor by Cesar Franck and as a contrast, the suite from Bernstein's West Side Story. As in previous Bardi/LGS concerts, students from the school will be performing concerto movements and short solo pieces with the Orchestra.Find out more »
The first De Montfort Hall concert of the new Bardi season "Life, Love and Nature" will see the welcome return of BBC Young Musician Finalist Isata Kanneh-Mason as our soloist to play Schumann's romantic Piano Concerto. Dvorák's Carnaval Overture will give a lively start the concert and the evocative Symphony No.5 by Vaughan Williams a contrast in the second half. Although completed in 1943 in the midst of the Second World War, much of the music of the symphony looks back to the composer's earlier style of the Tallis Fantasia.Find out more »
Leicestershire Chorale are celebrating their 40th Anniversary with a performance of the Verdi Requiem and the Coronation Te Deum by William Walton at De Montfort Hall. Chorale Director Tom Williams will be conducting the Verdi and Guest Conductor Paul McCreesh the Walton.

Tamsin Waley-Cohen returns as our violin soloist in the second De Montfort Hall Concert of the season the play the highly charged Violin Concerto by Sibelius. The Bardi open their 2018/19 season with a concert of well-known classics including Mendelssohn’s 'Fingal’s Cave' overture and Brahms’ Symphony No.1 in the newly re-opened Haymarket Theatre in Leicester. The principal Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon and Horn from the Orchestra are also showcased in Mozart’s sublime Wind Sinfonia Concertante.Find out more »
